Reader's Letters & Messages

Dear Mrs Hartmann,

I just had to write to you and tell you how much I love and enjoy your wonderful Project Sanctuary.

I am 82 years of age and still see a few clients (I am a Jungian Analyst by training). I have been fascinated by stories and imagination ever since I was a little girl, and every page in your book was like a homecoming to me. I am a little sad that I had to wait this long to finally see expressed on paper what I have felt in my heart for these many years but I am still overjoyed to have "met" such a kindred spirit.

Thank you again,

yours sincerely,

Evelyn Morrisson, Cornwall

Dear Silvia:

Thank you for the honor of allowing me to read your wonderful book.

I found your book to be an excellent source of information that will help many people come to a new understanding of how things work.

I find that it is explained in a way that will be thought provoking to those who would not normally think that therapy works.

I find your book to be a wonderful tool. You explain things well so that the layperson can easily understand. You are doing a terrific job. Thank you for allowing me to participate in your work of love.

Ken Hetherington

... I love your metaphors, your use of examples and stories, and your common-sense-let's-make-it-fun-and-easy approach.

I tried some of the process and liked it, felt I learned something that I didn't know about me, and something that was important for me to know about me.

I especially liked how you were there with me in the process. I can imagine people having "sanctuary parties" where they get together for several hours and create, support, and share.

I appreciate the effort that went into this creation, and I would feel delighted sharing this with others, either in part, or in its entirety.

Love, Rivkah Cohen

Dear Dr Hartmann

thank-you very much :-) for sending Project Sanctuary so quickly.

I've started to read and I can only say that it's so nice to see I'm not alone in all my opinions and I like the theory upon which the book seems to be written. It deals with the point of now, the point of reality. AND - bonus point for me- it's not dealing with words but images that are easy.

I love the way you point out the obvious which - after having seen a counselor I would never choose to see again...-obviously isn't all that obvious to some, the brain is the most multi-faceted, 'flexible' wizard of all time when it comes to working in images and suggestible. Well at least mine is.

I think for me in any case, a lot of my problem is that it is too easy for me to create images but I'm also very suggestible and having been surrounded often enough by things I would class as negative, my images seem to be fear bound. I have changed that a lot. As Dad mentioned my Mum left earlier this year and I think I've been spinning through space since then, I'm only just coming back down to earth now. Something in me doesn't want to create negative pictures anymore, it just does it out of habit but like I said, it's changing.

Really I just wanted to say a BIG thank-you and wish you and any other members of your family at the end of this line.....

Merry Christmas and a marvelous Millennium :-)

Take care & best wishes

(name offered but withheld because of personal details)

I have just finished your book and I could not wait to tell you how truly magical it was, I have done more inner work with your book in the last few weeks than I have done in the last 6mths. It should definitely come with a warning that it can produce intense responses and profound change.

Anyway you have produce something really wonderful (this statement I feel is a massive understatement so multiply it by 10000 and you will get close to how I feel).

Thank you so very much for sharing it.

Morya

I've received Project Sanctuary this morning and I've probably read about 1/5.

I am enjoying it immensely. Actually finding it hard to put down. Your style is just great -- quirky, biting, good information packed in an interesting way.

I've worked with metaphor a lot, but have never had so much fun with it as I can now see the potential for. Also, I'd been introduced to sanctuary work and thought it was boring. Boy did I have the wrong teacher all those years ago. Wish I'd known you then!

I actually feel excited about really getting into this now that I begin to see the potential.

best regards,

Peter Carling

I have started reading your material and am absolutely intrigued. The "sanctuary" was quite an enlightenment and I found my mother as one of my guides which was a lovely thing. (It has only been a 1-1/2 since her transition and I have missed her and her love and reassurance a great deal. For some reason I have not experienced her presence like I did when my father passed over.) While I have heard and used the "safe place" technique before, I believe this is far more respectful, hopeful and helpful and comprehensive.

Thank you so much for a brilliant book, just this one experience has made it more than worth buying it,

Thanks again

Cheryl

I have no idea if you expect your book to work the way it worked for me so I will write it down here, and you can either skip through it nodding sagely or read the detail.

So I read your book and followed the instructions as I went (except the bit about saying "sanctuary" out loud). I spent a few minutes creating a little sanctuary then continued to read. By the way I always read as much as possible before I fall asleep (I have a full time job and a 10mth old son so this is not a big window!). Anyway as I continued to read I discovered that I was experiencing a very strange sensation, it felt like falling asleep my eyes would close but I was not actually asleep.

It was like being hypnotized and slipping straight into a scene in which you are very busy doing things, for example arranging house, garden etc. I would then "wake up" again and read a little further then slip into the other scene do some stuff and then return. As you can see reading your book turned out to be a very hectic experience.

At one point when I was reading it seemed that the book had allowed me to work directly with my unconscious mind. At this point I was not feeling like I was falling asleep, I was just working on two levels simultaneously. I was able to reach a major insight, just like that. Anyway much crying was involved, which can of course be viewed as discomfort and distress by some people. So you see when I said you should provide a warning with this book I was serious.

Of course this comment can double as a warning and a possible pitch for the book "forget expensive therapist, become your own therapist, with the aid of this book and a box of tissues you can make profound changes in a short period of time.."

By the way I have visited my sanctuary since and added some features, not in a deliberate way I just let things turn up. In fact you have turned up and are acting as my "denial monitor" (thank you .I think!).

Have you thought that you will be turning up in lots of people's sanctuaries as their "therapist", "guide", and "denial consultant"?

What I really liked:

1. So true that people can make their issues the thing that defines them, sometimes a lifetime of "fixing" the problem becomes their solution. I have never seen this thought written down and it's a good thing for people to think about.

2. The whole concept of an inner world where you tackle each issue in an orderly manner (or a disorderly manner whatever appeals cos you are in control), I have never heard/read of before, and it's brilliant (exactly what I have been looking for lately, just incase you needed any more convincing that thoughts create reality).

3. The details of how others have used their sanctuaries, very inspiring. Thank you so much for a brilliant and inspiring "experience" that is more than just a book!

lots of love from

(name withheld because of the personal details)

This is a most wonderful gift - far more than a book! I am absolutely overcome by the sheer range and splendour of your vision of human creativity and intelligence. And you have made it so easy! So thank you, thank YOU!

On a private note and what you wrote about Romantic Love:

"Frankly, I don't give a damn about either enlightenment or scientific respectability. I've been there, know what it's like first hand, and when someone sits on my couch suffering from the side effects of this kind of major head-, heart-, mind-, and soul trip, I know that they're not deluding themselves - this is as real as it can get. "

I totally agree with you on this one ... This is where I believe that many of the so-called Spiritual movements have gone so wrong.

I loved the way you deal with the romantic love issue. Its the best and most practical I have read!!

Thank you for sending it to me.....

P.S.: Today a I went into the Academy For Psychic Studies, and was doing a psychic reading on an individual, when suddenly I got a flash of the persons "sanctuary". When the person being read asked for some healing on the energy in question, I got the idea to work on their "sanctuary picture". It was pretty incredible....

Thanks for opening my eyes to this!!

Project Sanctuary by Silvia Hartmann

Reviewer: Michael C. Pollack, Ph.D., CCHT
San Francisco, California, USA

I read this book while wearing two hats: that of a spiritually-oriented lay person, and that of a hypnotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner. Silvia Hartmann-Kent has done a masterful job of weaving together concepts and processes that satisfied both of these parts of me. Through the use of metaphors, parts integration, submodality shifts, and hypnotic language patterns, Ms. Hartmann-Kent has used a light-hearted approach in blending together some very important healing concepts and tools.

One commonly heard complaint about mainstream Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) texts is the often confusing and truncated language of the field. Silvia has translated the presuppositions and change patterns of NLP into clear, meaningful language, primarily through her wonderful use of language and metaphors.

Her concept of letting go of pre-conceived notions about what something might mean and to just "dive in" on a deep level in order to discover the true meaning is an approach to facilitating change that some may find very illogical. Yet, it is its illogical nature that makes it so powerful. It is something that our logical, rational mind cannot fathom, but our subconscious creative mind understands perfectly and uses to create the changes we want in our lives.

After all, true lasting change occurs on the level of the subconscious, not the conscious mind. That may well be one of the primary reasons that conventional "talk" psycho-therapies often take so long -- talking about an issue keeps it on the cognitive, ego-mind level. It takes quite a while for that to trickle down to the subconscious, where it is really needed.

Another concept that some may find rather "radical" is the notion that the first step towards true conscious/subconscious mind communication is to accept things as they are, and to proceed mostly on feeling, trust and intuition.
I also loved how her wonderfully instructive and delightful case studies so effectively brought home her points. I don't know of any other book that so thoroughly, thoughtfully and easily presents the ways to create and use a personal sanctuary, along with such creative tools to use there. Silvia's imaginative integration of the "sanctuary" with so many of the "alternative" healing approaches popular today presents a set of skills useful to all.
I have already used her approach with some of my clients, and the outcomes have been very positive and rewarding to all of us. I strongly recommend this book as a 'must' in any professional or personal library.

Michael C. Pollack, Ph.D.

The more I read Silvia Hartman's incredible book "Project Sanctuary", the more possibilities I see.

This work exhibits not only an incredibly deep knowledge and appreciation of the nature and power of metaphor, but also amazing creativity.

As far as I can see, working with metaphor in the way she suggest is ten times more powerful than standard metaphorical applications because it makes the unconscious itself into the creator or builder.

It's also more fun and a whole lot more gentle and respectful. In my opinion, this is "must read" for any psychologist and personal development practitioner.

Jane Simmons, MCBH, HLP, MNGH

I've introduced sanctuary work into my practice. It is a great trance inducer, in a very natural way, and I find my clients getting some surprising personal revelations from their own "visions" and the meanings they ascribe.

The dream records that precede and follow the therapy sessions are quite interesting, and evidence that the unconscious is using sanctuary work and dreaming to move forward on the healing journey.

Deana Wilcox, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Holistic Counsellor

"In this project Silvia has taken the best of the very best from a wide range of healing modalities and blended them into a unique whole. And, as with all quality blendings, such as the finest Scotch Whiskies, the final product is infinitely more than simply the sum of its parts.

What makes this work even more valuable than that however, turning it into a "must have" book, is that its simple, conversational, presentation makes it easily accessible to the beginner, yet offers a unique and powerful tool for all healing professionals"

I must confess to having heaved a heavy sigh prior to opening the document. As a neurolinguist, I find much of the New Age writings lacking in content and structure.
From the start, your use of language amazed me. I was determined to track the structures, state chains, post hypnotic suggestions and loops, but in spite of my best efforts, I kept being "sucked in" by the content and found myself drifting off right into wherever you wanted me to be at the time. This is not an experience I have had before with any book to this degree; I can only conclude that your use of the processes of languaging is nothing short of masterful.

As to the process itself, it is very interesting and rests on some very intriguing pre-suppositions.

Although I don't agree with all of them, it makes for a mind expanding experience. I have tried the process for myself, and I can honestly say that it is easy to use and most baffling in it's intricacies. I also believe that it is probably more powerful than you think it is.

To sum up, this is a most unusual book in every sense, bursting with creativity, ideas and imagination. I defy anyone to read it and not be changed by it.Thanks for letting me experience it and I'm sure it will be a runaway success with professionals and the public alike as people awaken to their own inner genius and creativity.

What fascinating ideas and information! I especially enjoyed reading about the experiences of the author's clients. Within the first few pages of reading I implemented some of the ideas with my own clients to good effect.

Very imaginative and stimulating.

In Project Sanctuary, Silvia Hartmann has written a tour de force of hypnotic imagery.

It will be a welcome addition to the bookshelf of any serious (hypno)therapist.

Reg Reynolds, Ph.D., Psychologist

Dear Silvia,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your Project Sanctuary.
I found your style very personal and warm which would engage the reader in the process with some sense of human connection and support. This would allow entrance into the process to be less fearful.

The constant implication and statement of safety and personal power are important aspects, in my opinion, which encourage the use of this tool for personal growth.
The use of many and various case examples would give each reader multiple chances to meet aspects of self which could benefit from using the Global Metaphor Therapy as a personal tool, not just another mental construct with which to play intellectual; but instead, a real tool, for real work, for real movement and change.

Walk in Peace,
Barbara Powell RNC, CHT, RM

First let me say that it was a pleasure to read "Project Sanctuary"... very complete in covering the subject matter.

I found the book to be easy reading and written in a very practical tone. I can quite easily relate (both from having personally being there as well as professionally in dealing with clients and co-workers in the field) to how people tend to mess themselves us and are forever looking for problems or believing that their problems can never be solved.

I believe that the book reflects the desire and fulfills the need of contemporary people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired trying to solve their apparently "unsolvable" problems - or as you say, those who are "running after their problems" all the time. The law of energy is that whatever you put your attention, your energy will follow into it - thus more problems. You get what you "pray" for. I definitely agree with the idea that a true spirituality is grounded in reality, is extremely necessary if an individual is grow on a real basis.
Your book shows people how they can change their internal "metaphorical world" and thus effect outer event.

I believe this to be a most empowering technique, because it puts the power back in the hands of the "client", where it rightly belongs.... It gives them hope that they can bring about changes in those special stuck situations. or those in which they have painted themselves into a corner.
I believe that every person who has gotten to the point of wondering why their life is not working like they wish it would, needs to read this book! They need to make Project Sanctuary their primary project!

This is a must reading for all those who are serious in making change in their life. I, for one, am definitely going to incorporate these principles in my own life and my professional work.

"Project Sanctuary" is a piece of work in which every therapist of every persuasion ought to be vitally interested. It provides an unprecedented opportunity to communicate with one's unconscious mind through the generation of symbol and metaphor, thus having rapid, ecological effect on the "real" world. Best of all, it offers work which _every_ client seems to _want_ to do!

"Project Sanctuary" is a piece of work every NLPer should rush to buy. If Design Human Engineering (tm) has never made sense to you, maybe because you didn't want to turn into a "machine-head" -- get this book. DHE becomes the way it should be: effortless.

"Project Sanctuary" is a piece of work every layperson should have their hands on. It's a problem solver extraordinaire, it's a personal growth tool par excellence, it's a creativity generator like nothing else I've ever encountered, it's an all-up incredible companion to life's journeys.

If this book isn't purchased in the millions, the world's got rocks in its head!

Best wishes, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to review your wonderful work.

I hope it sells millions, not only because I wish you wealth, but because I wish the world its contents.

Project Sanctuary is nothing less than a Magical Mystery Tour of the mind.

Silvia Hartmann has written a veritable cornucopia of ideas about how to begin to explore the powerful domains of our own minds and the minds of our clients.

It was a revelation to find such complete and comprehensive descriptions of ways to utilise the power of our minds, hearts and souls.

A real and rare treat.

This book is a contribution which will undoubtedly help many.

Stephanie Rothman-Stickney, CHT

My reaction to the book is very positive. As I read it I had the uncanny sense that you were present as I read and that you were TALKING to ME personally.

It didn't seem like the usual read at all, it was more like listening to someone sharing with me some exciting discoveries.  Someone with a sense of humor who is able to empathically anticipate reader's reactions and can respond to these reactions reassuringly.

You have developed an ingenious system based on an hypothesis with which I agree: "we materialize our internal metaphors by the very way we live our lives"

Your way of being a therapist is delightfully evocative and nondirective.

I imagine that you yourself are a delightful person with a marvelous sense of humor, flexible, receptive, encouraging, optimistic, very self-aware--a mensch!

I salute you and your accomplishment,

What was it like reading it for the first time?

An eye opener! I had never even considered the fact that I can stay in my safe place for as long as I liked, use it to heal, and change the fabric of my mental reality!

How have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

To release my passion for life, and to realize that change is not scary. I can do this here, so I know that I can do this in the "Hard" I am also finding that the Hard is really not that Hard! It is easy.

What are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

Expressing myself is becoming a habit and the shields are dropping daily!

Do you have a favourite PS story you would like to share?

I was flying to a part of my Sanctuary that I had not been to before and found this intresting castle surrounded by water. So I decided to check it out, only to find that there were no doors or windows. Not finding a way in, I said to myself that this is my creation and I can go where I please. At that thought I just melted Through the structure. For some reason, I asked "Where is my passion?"

Then I was drawn to a room where an aspect of myself " my passion' was chained to a wall.

I released myself from the wall and allowed me to have the freedom to express himself!

That moment was ground breaking for me!

Project Sanctuary by Dr Silvia HartmannWhat was it like reading it for the first time?

Immensely exciting, I absolutely couldn't put it down! A deep resonance, and a feeling of long-awaited homecoming, as well as a gratitude and a sparkling connection with the author who had put into words things that I thought nobody else ever felt.

I loved reading the stories - telling and hearing them is one of my favourite parts of PS.

How have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

Mainly for fun and relaxation, partly because there's some work to do on my Sanctuary before I get down to the serious adventuring. Unfortunately this 'big stuff' has become something that I'm forever planning to make time for...

What are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

That it's ok to be alone. That it's ok to go to places and do things that some cannot imagine. That I have all the resources I need to deal with anything that life gives me. That I, alone, am more than I ever imagined. It has also taught me about my fears of madness and social stigma, but that I am brave enough to overcome them and reach for *my* stars.

Do you have a favourite PS story you would like to share?

My favourite so far was the one about finding my subconscious, which I have
already shared, but two of my favourite experiences are;

- Drinking the cool, clear, sweet water from the fountain that insisted on being right in the entrance to my Sanctuary - I don't know what magical properties this water holds, but it never fails to make me smile.

- Implementing a series of satellite-like devices up among the stars which play music that showers down from the heavens - dancing around my Sanctuary garden like a loon with my gorgeous spirit guide, or snuggling under a blanket and watching the stars, the music is just about my favourite Sanctuary feature.

Thank you for this way cool technique.

Jenny, 20, UK

What was it like reading it for the first time?

It was quite freeing really.

Like being given permission to do something you would love doing but had either not thought of doing or thought was 'not allowed'.

At the same time it is simple enough in concept and leaves one thinking why didn't I just do these things anyway!

How have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

Of course for my Adam Faith experiences. For just chilling out in a lot of the time.

Recently I had the feeling that if only I had a couple of old Aunts living in the country on a small farm they would look after me and make me well. They would feed me in a simple country fashion without fads and food sensitivities and cholesterol worries etc. In reality I am discovering several food allergies and need to follow a diet for hypoglycaemia which is all very wearing and inconvenient.

So I realised after quite a few weeks of this yearning that in fact these Aunts for sure live in Sanctuary and so I have sent myself there and that is where I am in the background whilst dealing with reality here. Occasionally I go and see how I'm getting on. They want me to rest a great deal.

The initial setting up of my Sanctuary created a few shifts in real life.

> What are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

That I have possibly never been in love despite being married twice. I have confused it with enjoying being loved which is a different thing entirely and with conditional love.

It has also stretched my mind as far as what is real and what is not and does it matter!

> Do you have a favourite PS story you would like to share?

This is my favourite story. I have already shared it with the group but here it is again. It is about my meeting with Adam Faith for the first time since my teenage Sanctuary experiences.

At first, though we met in the beautiful gardens of my house, we found ourselves in a hotel bedroom, me wearing my school uniform! Not as kinky as it sounds, this would be my usual garb at the time I last 'visited' Adam when I was about 14 years old :-)

Clearly sex was on the cards and I was not happy with this. It seemed so impersonal and unloving. So I said so and what happened then was extremely surprising to me. Basically we spent a whole day in the most romantic way possible - walking on the cliffs, lunching a deux somewhere overlooking the sea, sailing on a yacht and swimming in the sea all afternoon culminating in a delicious romantic dinner with candlelight and dancing cheek to cheek. Throughout the whole day Adam was perfection, he was incredibly attentive and seemed to be delighted to be with me the whole time. He told me how much he loved me and finally asked me to marry him!!! The stunning part is I did not know what to do with all this. So Adam took me to see a delightful Irish priest in a cottage on the cliffs and this is what happened:

Adam told the priest we wanted to talk to him about marrying and this is what he said.

"Well now, the thing is when you decide to marry you send out a powerful message to the universe. You stand your two selves there on a kind of pedestal, saying here we are, standing as one. And now the universe sends back the winds of change, the lightning bolts of insecurity, the thunder clouds of indecision and the rain of individuality. If you are not standing very firmly on solid ground then you will be swept away and I'm not wanting to see you, Linda my dear, drowned in the flood and mire of your own uncertainty. So, before taking this momentous step, my advice is go from here and put all your efforts into finding your own, your very own solid ground."

It became clear to me that, although I believe I have been loved, I, myself, have never really loved. The actions and feelings that I have translated as love have, in fact, been actions to attract love and the feeling of being loved but where was the feeling of unconditional loving? The strongest feeling right now with Adam is that he is showering me with his love, and enjoying it immensely, but I am simply an empty, cracked vessel, just taking and taking and finding I can never be filled up. I would like to find the ability to love. I understand I have it in me but it is deeply hidden.

> Anything else you'd like to say?

One always feels there ought to be LOL.
I guess the only thing is I don't feel I have at all grasped the full use and significance of Sanctuary but I do feel it is in my life for keeps.

I don't go there all the time and long periods may elapse between visits but I never, ever forget it exists.

Linda, 53, England

What was it like reading it for the first time?

Confusing and, as if I was doing something wrong and wasteful. Just like all those times I was chided for “daydreaming”.

Project Sanctuary by Dr Silvia HartmannHow have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

With enjoyment, wonder and gratitude that I have my magic back.

I have used it mostly for rest and to find out what *I* truly want.

Just today (Duh!) I realized that I can ask a guide, whom I met many years ago in a dream, to meet me there and we shall have a talk and we shall see where it leads. I have spent many occasions pondering that dream meeting and wishing I could remember the great stuff he told me.

What are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

I began in a fortress setting of safety, beauty and luxury.

After some time, I realized that I did not have a community with which to interact and that I was lonesome. I have since realized how much of a solo person I am and I am pondering and initiating ways to enter into nourishing community here in the Hard.

A relief, and very exciting

> How have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

I guess ive been a bit hyperactive in there so far ... fixing up some stuff in my life, mostly

> What are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

It doesnt have to be hard ('it' being anything at all, really)

> Do you have a favourite PS story you would like to share?

Well I haven't been doing this very long, and i dont know about favourite, but i thought id tell you about something that happened today.

i had a vision of this electrical energy, like lightning, in the core of my planet.

(my house is on an island, but i have a whole planet as my sanctuary, and i fly to other continents on it ... i also fly to earth sometimes).

so i made an elevator which took me down to the core. the energy was totally contained within it,
and i decided to make some pathways for it up to the surface, much like meridians :-). back up on the surface, the energy was crackling all around, but the whole planet was rumbling, i thought it might explode, or at least cause lots of earthquakes, so i installed a controller in the core, who regulates the level of energy through the planet. there is now a lovely background hum of energy everwhere. the only problem is the it sparks off little fires now and then.

i havent decided what to do about this yet, or even if it really is a problem.

What was it like reading it for the first time?

Absorbing, stimulating and exciting; tho' not an entirely new kind of technique, being already very familiar with creative visualization.

How have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

Mostly for 'looking and seeing' - ie exploration.

What are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

That I have such a strong link with spirituality/mythology.

Anything else you'd like to say?

A very clear reminder that 'as within, so without'. And thanks.

What was it like reading it for the first time?

It was like reconnecting with my power and my autonomy through a joyous inside game.

Every page opened up more and more my mind.

It was like re-contacting this incredible child limitless creativity that I've forgotten somewhere in my past.

How have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

For myself, I've used it most of the time for relaxation and exploration.

But on friends I've used it for helping them to move forward on their life when stuck on something.

Project Sanctuary by Dr Silvia Hartmann What are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

That Life is a playground where everything is a potential tool for learning.

That nothing is as dramatic as it looks like when you stay opened in that game of Life.

Do you have a favourite PS story you would like to share?

One of my friends has a depression and before to work with her she said she wasn't able to see where to start, which problem to pickup first.

The metaphor for her problems was loads of paper in which a traumatic even was written on each sheet… but someone had made a bad joke to her by putting many many blank sheets through the pile.

She wanted to clean the pile but hadn't the strength to do it. I suggested hiring the service of thousands of secretaries; everyone had some sheets to clean and a summary of the main traumas to produce. After that a responsible would be in charge to make a summary on one sheet of the core problems behind all those problems and traumas.

My friend could then work on those core problems with her psychologist. This PS session was two weeks ago and she has started to go much better… she was stuck their since six months.

She hasn't received the summary's sheet yet but it seems she had a breakthrough with that session and she now sees some light amongst the darkness!

It's a bit curious but Project Sanctuary gives me hope for the "after-life". If there is some "after or between life", actually, I'm learning its rules right here with Project Sanctuary.

Maybe the hard is for those who aren't able to cope with the limitless "paradise" of the free soul and they couldn't pursue their evolution without "real hard lessons"!!!

What was it like reading it for the first time?

It was brilliant - like finally it was alright to do this sort of thing, and not only that, I'd been right to think it so important and that I kept on dreaming even though everyone around me told me it was stupid and a waste of time.

For that alone, I will be eternally grateful!

How have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

I use it for all sorts! When I'm bored. When I'm overtired and need some healing, to be in a place that just soothes me. To not be alone when I don't want to be. To ask questions from the guides. To try out new things there before I do them for real. With clients, I often use it for creating healing stories with them, that is just so powerful, really magical.

What are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

I think the most important learning was to understand how I had limited myself. Here there is this space where you can have anything, be anyone - and what do I do with it? Make a hut somewhere in the wilderness and really think that's the bees knees. It really makes me laugh sometimes when I do a version of that again, but at least now I notice. It shows up so immensely what your real beliefs are.

Do you have a favourite PS story you would like to share?

Oh but there are so many! The one that had probably the most impact on me was this one. I've never had what you might call a "good relationship" with someone of the opposite sex in my entire life. But one time I was doing a fairly mundane sanctuary thing when from nowhere, this man turned up. I don't know if he was a guide or what he was, but I felt something that I have never, ever known before - and it's just a little thing or so it seems, but it was as though I didn't have to do anything to please him, that it was ok to just be there with him and be me and not have to try so hard all the time. I didn't even know such a state of being could exist for me, it was totally new and it changed - well everything I guess about the expectations or understandings of what a relationship could be like.

This was absolutely beyond my own previous experience - so I got to experience something in Sanctuary that I didn't even suspect could exist at all. It is really difficult to try and explain what that was like or what it meant to me.

Even if that never happens "for real", at least I know now and I've felt it, well calling it a gift doesn't do it justice, nor how grateful I am to have been able to know this.

Anything else you'd like to say?

Project Sanctuary has changed my life. It'll always be with me and to have that there and know it is priceless.

Thank you, Silvia.

Project Sanctuary Player's Questionnaire

What was it like reading it for the first time?

A deep resonance -- yes this is so right, so powerful, I read it with a great amount of excitement, happiness and even relief. Although I had some experience with fantasy/visualization and exposure to Grovian metaphor work, I had no idea how to really put it all together or how to have fun with it!

And this is really important: when reading PS, I couldn't wait to get started --- I was thinking Oh boy, this is going to be FUN!

Without PS, I wouldn't give myself permission to going into these realms and just play! Imagine that, doing deep work and having fun at the same time --- what a concept!!!

How have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

I have used it a lot for rest and relaxation - I regularly use the healing pool and have a team of energy healers who come to give me treatments.

Other uses: Creativity: I have an artist's studio where I am playing with sculpture and a library where my designer is working on a brochure for my business.

Guidance: I regularly meet with a guide (the original guide has disappeared and been replaced with someone I've met before in meditation/visualization -- the first one I think was just there to welcome me) and recently started consulting with her about clients.

Travel: I haven't had a vacation (in the Hard) for a long time, but in PS I just recently went to a beach resort. There's a lot I want to do but haven't yet, like meeting/healing my past selves, working on relationships, meeting a lover, etc. (have tried several times, but feel asleep......very interesting).

What are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

That creativity is a crucial part of healing and transformation and it doesn't have to be hard work. It has also given me more evidence that there is truly no separation between the quantum realms and the Hard - what we do in either place will manifest somehow in the other, be it subtle or more dramatic.

The other important thing is that it has given me something to do with my "overactive" mind. Instead of always trying to clear my mind, focus, be still, etc. it is VERY FREEING to just let my mind go and do what it wants!

I'm another one of those people who has been told many times that I think too much ---- my mind just needed something to play with, to grab onto and explore!

Do you have a favourite PS story you would like to share?

Two that I love:

1) My favorite has got to be the bubble house which I wrote about before: After an intense session of Slow EFT and ET a core issue I went into Sanctuary, and suddenly the main dwelling/house was completely wrong somehow.

Previously it had felt comfortable, safe, cozy, pretty large with a variety of rooms; now it felt small and dark. Knowing it needed to change, but not how, I called in a designer to help and when he raised his arms the dwelling expanded rapidly -- in fact it is so large I can barely see from one end to the other. It is now a huge 3 level structure, completely transparent, but not made of glass. It is rounded, with no sharp edges anywhere -- like 3 slightly squashed balls sitting one on top of the other. The transparent material is somehow slightly permeable because it "breathes" instead of having windows. There are absolutely no walls inside, everything is visible (previous dwelling had separate rooms).

The top floor is like an observatory for star gazing (and maybe future gazing?), the middle level has everything for rest, relaxation and healing and the bottom floor seems to be about work/creativity -- a large portion is dedicated to an artists studio (which didn't exist at all in the first dwelling). I am totally amazed, delighted and excited about this change and though I am refraining from analyzing, it feels like a HUGE shift for me.

2) After working with HypnoDreams Receiving the Colors quite a bit, I went in to Sanctuary, and found myself in a long tunnel made entirely of crystal and as I whooshed through the tunnel the walls lit up with colors that changed and swirled as I went by -- it was beautiful. At the end of the tunnel I came into a space of pure, bright ,whitefish light -- overwhelmingly bright, which filled me with awe. When I opened my eyes in the dark room (it was night) the room seemed brighter! Very amazing.

Anything else you'd like to say?

Project Sanctuary is brilliant. The book is wonderful, inspiring and invites the reader to join in. I also very much appreciate the stories of people's experiences using PS.

I have introduced two friends to PS who are actively involved now and we got together a few days ago to share stories. I have also used the process with one client and have introduced another to it. My heartfelt gratitude to you Silvia for a wonderful, life changing gift!

THANK YOU!

What was it like reading it for the first time?

Deep resonance. The feeling that this is what I have been looking for for a long time.

How have you used the Project Sanctuary approaches so far?

I am pretty new to it. I have been working on getting it cleaned up. It is now a place where I go to and feel good energetically. There are times I go there and feel so good it makes me cry. I still have a lot of exploring and creating to do.

Project Sanctuary by Dr Silvia HartmannWhat are the most important learnings you have derived from doing Project Sanctuary?

I am finally, finally, finally learning to communicate with my body and subconscious self. I approach it as an exploring what is there and then working on it until it feels right.

Do you have a favourite PS story you would like to share?

I started out being in a church. Later I realized it looked like the Baptist church my aunt goes to. I have a lot of blocks to the church as well as not good experiences with the Baptist church in my youth. (Funny that a lot of people I am attracted to and like, I later find out they are heavy-duty Christians.) I did Emotrance and dropped my shields to the church. This brought up a lot of emotion. I let go of a lot and the church turned into a log cabin. I had more work to do and now the log cabin is gone, and the place where it was is a cliff that looks out over the beautiful countryside. To my left is a waterfall and behind is a tree for shade. I like to lie on the grass and look out at the vast land. It is a very powerful feeling.

Anything else you'd like to say?

I’m just so grateful that Silvia discovered this and shared it. It feels like I’m finally getting back in touch with my child self and the magic she believed in.
